Takkemarsj (2025)

Takkemarsj is a new work composed to honor and thank our longtime president, Loretta Kelley. Fiddler Johanne Flottorp of Åmli, Norway (who taught at our workshop in 2016) was comissioned to create a work that would echo in spirit and rhythm the Lars Fykerud tune Farvel til Amerika. The tune was titled Takkemarsj or "Thank You March" and it was premiered at the 2025 Annual Workshop on July 19 at Folklore Village in Dodgeville, Wisconsin.  This project was made possible through the generous donations of some of our members.  The links below are provided in order to facilitate learning this beautiful tune in the hope that we will keep it as part of our traditions at future workshops.
