Hardingfele Lender-Borrower Exchange

Do you own a hardingfele that is no longer being used? Would you like to see your instrument being played by a deserving student or performer? Or are you a musician with a deep interest in playing the hardingfele but you do not own an instrument? The HFAA Hardingfele Lender-Borrower Exchange aims to help connect prospective lenders with prospective borrowers, much like an online dating service. Prospective borrowers who join our program provide information about themselves, which is then made available to prospective lenders in our program. After that, making the connection is up to the lender. Membership in the HFAA is not required to participate. To join the Exchange, do the following:

If you are a prospective lender

1. Download the application form and fill out, indicating your contact information and the identifying information of the fiddle you wish to loan. If you have more than one instrument to lend please fill out a separate application for each.
2. Sign the form, which indicates that you agree with the Acknowledgement of the Hardanger Fiddle Association of America's Nonliability, and either scan and return as an email attachment to fiddle_exchange@hfaa.org, or send via mail as a paper copy to the address on the form.
3. We will forward to you the application materials submitted by prospective borrowers, which you are free to follow up with or not as you choose. Your own personal information is kept private and is not forwarded to prospective borrowers.
4. To terminate your participation in the program, either because you have successfully loaned your instrument or for any other reason, please notify us via email at fiddle_exchange@hfaa.org
